| I arrive at my Network meeting and it’s a full house, the visitor hosts have glasses of juice cold and fresh for me and my guest who immediately picks up the positive vibe in our decorum and intent.
After 10 mins of networking “spot on time, we get on with the agenda”, a few dazzling ONE minute slots and exactly 15 minutes later I introduce my guest who is keen to join as there is another applicant offering the same services who could not get in first. Other guests get introduced and we settle down to BUSINESS.
When we get to the referrals session Every Member has one or two qualified referrals , The One I get is a members best buddy and he knows I am busy but will take time out to call him that day to set up a meet. The member has told him about the great service my company gives and trusts me to give him value for money and special attention. I am presented with the information I need to make a good impression and some insights into the need of the prospect.
One member was not present today so his IOU for R 100.00 is put into the charity box and no one else puts in today as we ALL had a referral to give.
The 10 minute slot gives us great insight into another of our business partner’s work and ends on time without any overrun, its professional and helps us all understand what we can do to help grow her business. The door prize is there as always and the leadership team impresses with their preparedness and we close the formalities with the Membership Team arranging to meet with the new member after breakfast or later that day to sign them up. but only if they are prepared to commit to the Teams efforts on a weekly basis and know that they can bring serious business to the group.
What is really great about this meeting is that I get back to my office having had a great breakfast by 0830 and in my hand are two of the things I value most, New Client Prospects who already have a positive bias towards doing business with us.
I am so pleased that I put into my diary the card of one of the members that I have not referred to for a while to remind me to do something about it this week.
It’s all possible if we all get on the same agenda!!
